About
I am a Certified Trauma-Informed Coach. My work stems from forty years of my own mental health, ups and downs, and from watching my daughter become ill with an eating disorder at twelve. Her illness was the catalyst. Trying to help her, I found my own unresolved trauma was in the way. My approach is trauma-informed and nervous system-led. All human patterns are not character flaws. They are intelligent adaptations, nervous system strategies learned to ensure safety in environments that demanded compliance over coherence. I sit with this constantly. What can actually be done, when the harm is systemic and the body has to carry it regardless? For me, this work happens on two levels. Simultaneous. The first is internal. What has been asked of a person, as a human being, just to survive. What it has cost. What they might need to reclaim. Not fixing. Not resilience for a broken system. Reclamation of dignity. The second is systemic. That work moves slowly, and people are living the cost of it right now, in their bodies, their capacity, their sense of self. One level without the other is incomplete. Inner work without the systemic lens risks becoming adaptation to what demands compliance, not real change. Some of what I hold with clients is not personal trauma at all. It is vicarious, the grief and violence absorbed daily through a screen, with no container to hold it and no ritual to release it. This too lives in the body and asks to be met. Sessions draw on somatic and trauma-informed coaching, subconscious reintegration, neuroscience-informed nervous system regulation, and energetic release work with soundscapes. Layers of the same conversation. I am also doing the work of decolonising my own western mind and my practice. I have attended two trainings with Dr Samah Jabr, Palestinian psychiatrist. As she says, you cannot heal the individual without healing the community the individual lives in. The nervous system does not heal in a vacuum. It heals in context, and context includes history, power, and whose suffering gets named and whose does not. I offer 1:1 work. I also facilitate group healing circles, for those who need to grieve, regulate, or be witnessed alongside others carrying the same weight.
